In the passing two weeks or so I have witnessed a great deal of blatant cheating on our server. Im not this time talking about nekkid-rp or other lame fightclubbing, I'm referring to the usage of thirdparty programs such as AoC-godmode, speedhack and radarhack.
AoC godmode is a utility that lets you use a multitude of cheats to "better" your gaming experience, sort of an utility with many functions in one. Radar cheat lets you see every mobile game target on your minimap. Speedhack is self explanatory; you increase your speed and/or can "bunnyhop" between locations so that it is impossible to hit you and you can circle your enemies to death. The trick with these programs? They are nearly impossible to check from the serverside. These aplications are invisible to servers.
To get caught you need to have a gm observing a player. FunCom doesn't even take videos as proof (because they can be edited). With the current response times from GM's it's nearly impossible to get caught.
I'm pretty baffled about this; hackers were around like good six months ago, but then they seemed to disappear. Now it seems we have them back, and to my observations I've seen many familiar fucktards using them; mainly few players from Celestial, HUN's and Acolytes of the Shadows. Unluckily I did not have my fraps available, so no evidence was recorded (cant really screenshot this), but now it's all good to go and im just waiting more encounters!
Also a friend gave me a /tell about some Royal Elite Killers and BLOOD members "hopping around the world", so this seems like a "server wide" problem again, as it was before.
If you manage to take videos, Aquilonian Informers comment sections is always a good place to post them; if they are good they might even make the headlines!
More Empire cheating, now theres a suprise....
ReplyDeleteempire and scums are cheaters from when AoC was launched, with the decrease in aquilonia population started a few months after the game release those fuking retarded cheaters were gone... now with the new wave of subscription and a lot of the old shit reactivating their accounts we are back to Age of Cheat...
ReplyDeleteFC never used the iron fist against exploiters and cheaters, this killed the game and worsened the gameplay, it's time for FC to show the balls and start to ban permanently those damned lamers!
I know the people that used the duping of money got banned.
ReplyDeleteVerisses or something(a hox from argonauts i think) Once made me loose 40G because he bought my stuff with duped money. The money was removed from my char since it was duped. Items lost forever.
But his account was banned for a sertain time. And that time is past now. So im guessing a bunch of the cheaters got banned at one point. But the ban is now lifted.
I just hope they where banned cause im assuming a 2nd offense will be punnished harder.
I know at least two players that are banned for using radar. I also know more than 10 players which are banned for a while for trading epic items.
ReplyDeleteSo whenever they catch the cheater, they ban him. It's all about how many players are cheating currently. I believe it's not that much as you suspected, at least at keshatta. It has been a while I'm getting popped up by a radar using pom, or running after a speed-hacker.
I've heard of programs that helps lending combo finishers on opponents, but again for a long time I haven't faced a player that is able to hit his all combos on me, when I'm moving fast around.
But guys, I don't want to claim X or Y is cheating because, I got so many tells that claims I am cheating (though I know that I'm not THAT good). There are cheaters around (as I said I've seen people banned) but most of our suspicion is a trick of our EGO which can't accept there might be better players then us.
As an example I fought against a guy about 2 months ago and he was teleporting like hell, but I had been able to kill him. And I thought "fucking cheater" just before I had a tell like "you're a fucking cheater teleporting around". I laughed hard and I figured out that actually it was a latency issue (perhaps from my connection).

as a blood member i can say that none of blood members are cheating.We are just ganking,ganking,ganking everyone that makes a move.We can be hard gankers but not cheaters.and one more thing comes to informer; you are doing fine but do not write hearsay in your blog so much.
ReplyDeletei can recommend everyone to try out hack-programs; funcom wont be able to detect them so there is no real harm. Just check them beforehand with antivitus software incase you have downloaded a keylogger or something nasty.
ReplyDeleteradar-hack works very nicely and godmode has radarhack and speedhack options so just download that and when you are in need of "assistance", pop up the ability you need! speedhack can be a bit bugged and crash your game client, but it's gotten better lately.
I recommend testing in a resource area or some other desolate place. Do not keep using them all the time, rather only when you are fighting a tough opponent or cannot get a ranger friend to track people.
There's nothing nicer then to pop up speed when you are at 50% health loosing to someone, and then whacking him through the floor! Or if you are tired of grinding villas for money, why not make it faster?
Remember, only stupid people get caught.

ReplyDeleteAt the OP: If you're gonna go around accusing people and guilds for cheating, i'd like to see some evidence. To my knowledge, noone in Acolytes of the Shadow is cheating - just because we gank a lot and generally are better than your average PvP'er doesn't mean we're cheating. So - bring some evidence to the table , or keep your specualtions to yourself.

ReplyDeleteThis time however, you nailed it. There are a lot of cheaters on this server. A other thing, there is a cheat on assisting. Look on Hun's sieges, withing 0.0001 second EVERYONE attacks the same target. It's not possible to get 24 people co-op that good, not when we all do know they are shitty players. Don't you agree on this? So they are aswell as using other exploits, as radar with more, using assist exploit. Sure you can press target and press F, but not on 0.01 sec and NOT 24 men's at same time.

ReplyDeleteOf course i can not guarantee anything, i'm not a nazi who hire the FBI or whoever to investigate my guildies - perhaps i've eaten too many paranoia-vaccines, but in my book, my guildies are innocent until otherwise proven.
Aside from the radar-hax, there is one, ONE person i ever suspected was a cheater for real, and that was the HoX who sprinted circles around you while you were sprinting yourself.
There's always been a lot of specualtions about cheating, lots of accusations, but very little proof. Don't join in the cry-choir and the withc-hunt just because you can't kill people - it makes you look real bad, and really fucking stupid.

ReplyDeleteRadar hacks are most common over here, with infinitive stamina coming in second place.
Funny thing is that cheats are present, but exploits are infact really killing the pvp enjoyment over here.
You haven't seen anything until a raid of lvl 70s come to kesh and starts to molest lvl 80s giving them murder and criminal status and at the same time getting the most of pvp xp. Or the stacked invuls where you have poms that are 10 times tougher to kill than guardians since they almost don't take damage.
Or the bugging and stacking of mage shields (you have 3 types of mages and somehow bug their shields so it prevents 3x92 damage at the same time), etc...
Not to mention sieges with lag of 2k-5k latency and alltogether 70+ mages.
However, in the end it all comes to massive and great pvp and one cannot say everyone cheats. Game isn't perfect and we just have to live with it imo or leave.

About the "Assist Hack" there is an ingame command named "Assist" that helps you share the target of your target(team mate). So it's not a hack and pretty useful on sieges.

ReplyDeleteJamora kept going on about RP event, and besides the fact... these "fury recruits" dodox and almas, they're even worse pvp-ers than Nesher and they manage even die to BOTGC conquerors. Screw that... i am not going to belive one bit what HUN members say. These pvp lvls you make there at your private instace... is basicaly useless.. you are still same old HUN guild who can't fight outside oasis without having res pad 50m away. Even with your army of great "pvpers" you get ass-raped by good organised group of SCUM whenever we have urge to clean the place.
That's basicaly it, you are cannon fodder. If Funcom introduced guild invite penalities let's say a week, HUN empire and any empire-ish guild would be simply FUCKED in the siege.
Only guild that has some backbone from Empire's side is Celestials. they know how to play and i trust that they never tried to boost their pvp-lvls. For example... Noctur - great hox from celestials- he will fuck you up if you are not careful, Bots/Karven - celestial demo, freaking strong players on empire side .. they are light years ahead of Dodox the hero and almas the shithead.
We don't even consider HUN-ish members as great threat during casual pvp. Half of their high pvp-lvl players has IQ of a freaking rock when it comes to pvp, i wonder why.
I'm sorry but only decent guild that empire has is Celestial. Without them you guys would be nothing, atleast during siege.
We besieged pure HUN raid force, and it was like taking candy from a kid... i'm not even going to talk about argonauts.
As for myself... i am pvp lvl 4 from hard pvp grinding in kheshata, took me 3 months, whatever is it that you huns do for your pvp lvls, i am pretty sure it's not world pvp or dueling, so there's only one option left for you.

In total I've seen 2 cheaters of whom im sure where cheating in pvp. Reported one of them and never saw him after that.

yesterday i have fighted with CORALINE, a demonologist of "Accolytes of the shadow", she has the regeneration of the life cheated and other things too. Was impossible to kill her also in a group, and think we were lvl 56-57 and she was lvl 60

ReplyDeleteI have to say that I haven't encountered any odd behaviour in Age of Conan what I would say 100% sure for cheating. Except maybe couple times when players spotted me from stealth very odd ways. I know that there is bug which bugs sometimes so that you can see targeting decals even target is in stealth (only hox?), but when it happens many times row and same players it is bit suspicious. Most cases acusing cheathing is just lack of skill or game bugs like stacked PvP invuls. :)

I wonder if they really work on Live servers? Far as I know that ALL calculations happens on server side and messing with client does not help a shit. Except maybe doing some fake lag can in theory give "warping" "speed travel" or "no stamina loss" and infamous "radar hax" which is some screw up in Funcom side, but I don't believe any "God mode" stuff at least before I see it myself... I bet those are just stacked BK invuls + PvP gear. Like example Battus PvP level 4 guardian takes around 15-20min to take him down for me. ;D

He was in futilez also for a short time (prior to me), and lets say people don't have high opinion in our guild about his skill (he's great pvp-er, but everyone is accusing him of something, thats why. some nice stories related).
Is that him, did he re-roll? Since he can't be seen on fury lately.
Well he told me that he have 2 PvP5s in Fury, and one was a HoX. Well I don't know about his skilz of haxxx but I found his manners pretty enjoying.
ReplyDeleteAfter I jumped him 2 times he requested a duel. Though he was a lowbie guardian (73 perhaps not sure) killing him on the duel was pretty hard.
After I finally finished him of, just to be nice I said
"You're fighting good" and he answered
"Nahh, you just suck" and started to give a lecture of basics of PvP until I could find the ignore option.

ReplyDeletein a minigame (level60-79) this guy was the first in kill ratio (he killed 25 people ,he was level 75 guardian) and the second guy killed 10 (level 78 hox)..
i hope funcom will fix this issue , after we will see who is best...

Think he's 19 year old now and from Finland.
You can see him as a mix of maggy and honza - people that were most accused of cheating, but never proved, etc. Story goes that he sucked hard back on old server prior to merge, and then over one night he became "godlike".
He was almost kicked of futilez because officers believed he was cheating - he could for example kite yaremka without his stamina dropping at all and stuff like that.
In the end, he's a great player (if we set aside cheat accusations) and any guild should grab him. But beware his foul mouth on global :D
exactly that's what i am saying.I observed him several times while he was fighting.(i was in hide mode)he always run around his enemy without stamina lost with massive damage in defensive stance.stay away fighting with him or kill him with your friends not alone :))
